Work From Car (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a voice-first assistant to help you manage email and calendar through natural language. This policy describes how we handle information when you use our mobile application and related backend services.
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
This is consistent with our account database, which stores email and Google sub to identify your account.
Voice and transcripts. Audio is processed on your device for speech recognition (transcription). Text transcripts and related conversation context may be sent to our servers so we can interpret your request, plan actions, validate sensitive operations, and produce spoken summaries.
Google data (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts). With your permission, the app requests OAuth scopes to read and send email, access your calendar, and read contacts. Those Google APIs are invoked from the app using credentials you authorize; we use that access only to perform the actions you request through the product.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Tool results and summaries. When the app completes a Google API action, structured results may be sent to our servers to generate a natural-language summary you hear in the app.
Speech-to-text transcription, voice activity detection, and text-to-speech playback are designed to run on your device using on-device models and native components. Raw audio is not sent to our servers solely for transcription; transcripts and derived text may be sent as described above.
We rely on service providers to operate the product, including:
Their use of data is governed by their respective terms and policies. We recommend reviewing Google’s policies and any provider shown in your in-app disclosures or account settings as we update them.
We may log technical and operational information (for example request handling, errors, and limited request content for debugging). We do not use dedicated third-party advertising or product analytics SDKs in the application code paths we ship for this product as of the date above; if that changes, we will update this policy.
We retain account identifiers (email and Google sub) for as long as your account is needed to
provide the service. We do not maintain a separate long-term archive of your full email contents on our servers
as part of the core account schema described in our public technical documentation.
You can revoke the app’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account security settings. That will stop new Google API access from the app, but may not delete data already processed by third-party LLM providers under their retention rules.
Contact for requests: work-from-car@googlegroups.com — For data access or deletion requests, email us at this address. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the service, including transport encryption (HTTPS) for API traffic and secure storage of credentials on-device where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you use the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may require additional notice as required by law.
